Lady Khadijeh Saqafi was born on 1st March 1914. At the age of 16 she married the clergyman Roohollah Moosavi Khomeini, who would later become Ayatollah Khomeini, Supreme Leader and founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979.
