Following the white supremacist "Unite the Right" rally, parallel counterprotests, and the murder of Heather Heyer in Charlottesville, Virginia on 12 August 2017, residents of Norfolk, Virginia gather in order to demand the removal of "Johnny Reb", a memorial to Confederate soldiers who lost their lives during the Civil War towering eight stories high over the Downtown Banking District at the intersection of East Main Street and Commercial Place.
