Laura McNeil is a 17-year-old prodigy, deeply expressive yet withdrawn, who begins to question the faith that once gave her a sense of direction. As her doubts about the Bahá’í teachings grow stronger, her relationship with her mother becomes strained, and even her performance at school starts to slip. Caught between expectations and her desire for independence, Laura sets her sights on Los Angeles, determined to build a life of her own and learn how to stand, and ultimately fly, on her own wings.
