Anna arrives in Paris to visit her pregnant friend Caroline, who is having a birthday. Over the past five years, Anna has struggled to conceive, but has recently been told that it is pointless to continue fertility treatments due to her disease endometriosis. She's having a hard time hiding her jealousy over Caroline's pregnancy, and the gap between the girlfriends is growing.
