In 2005 Tao Yuling won the title of "One Hundred Outstanding Actors" awarded by the China Film Performance Society, and the "Outstanding Contribution Film Artist" awarded by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of the Ministry of Personnel. In 2017, he won the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 16th China Film Performing Arts Society Golden Phoenix Award.
