After graduating from school in 1957-1958, she worked as a secretary-typist at the Saryagash District Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. She came from the Matay clan of the Naiman tribe (Middle Zhuz). She entered the film industry by chance while being a student and became famous immediately after the release of the film "The Song Calls". In 1962, she graduated from the English Department of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the Kazakh State Pedagogical Institute named after Abai, specializing in teaching English. From 1995 to 2002, she performed on the stage of the Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth named after G. Musrepov. Since 1960, she has been a permanent actress at the "Kazakhfilm" studio named after Sh. Aimanov.
