He is best known for his roles as Arnold Rimmer in the science-fiction comedy, Red Dwarf, and as Gordon Brittas in the sitcom, The Brittas Empire. He's also known for his role as Hillary in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and its sequel Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life.
