Roman Leonidovich Karimov (Russian: Роман Леонидович Каримов, born June 20, 1984; Ufa) is a Russian filmmaker. Born in Ufa on June 20, 1984. In 2003, he went to live in London, produced short films for the BBC and did film trailers and other works for TV3, TV1000 and ZTV. Two years later he returned to Russia. Karimov directed three short films ("Optimist", "Apartment 29" and "Don't worry!"), worked as a promotional director of the film "Platot" and director of the documentary "Profession: humorist", starring Vadim Galygin. "Don't Worry" won the Audience Award at the My Cinema Festival, and "Apartment 29" won the prize for the best feature film at the festival КИНОТЕАТР.doc. In 2010, Karimov's debut feature film, the comedy "Inadequate People", was shot. The film won the Grand Prix of the Window to Europe Film Festival, held in August 2010, and was also very warmly received by Russian moviegoers, receiving many positive reviews. In 2023, Karimov released his 10th feature film "Breath" about doctors during COVID-19 pandemic.
