Angela Ricci Lucchi was an Italian filmmaker and artist. She studied painting under Oskar Kokoschka in Salzburg. In the 1970s, she began a lifelong collaboration with her partner, Yervant Gianikian. Together, they created influential found-footage films examining the specters of war, genocide, and colonialism. Their notable works include From the Pole to the Equator (1986) and Prisoners of War (1995). Ricci Lucchi's contributions to avant-garde cinema are celebrated for their profound historical and political insights.
