Iván Fund (1984) was born in San Cristóbal, Santa Fe, Argentina. He grew up in Crespo, Entre Ríos and in 2002, he moved to Buenos Aires to work as a director of photography. In 2005 he directed his first short film, "Vals", which was awarded a special mention by the Jury at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival. In 2006 he directed the short films "Sirenas" and "El Baile", and received, among other awards, the Georges Meliés Short Film Award, awarded by the Alliance Française. In 2007, he directed the short films "Divergir" and "Un Punto Fijo", as well as the short film "Cicope", which he directed in collaboration with Patricio Toscano and which was part of the BAFICI Official Selection. In 2008, he began collaborating with Santiago Loza. In 2009, his first feature film, "La Risa", was selected at the BAFICI. His film "The Lips" won the Un Certain Regard Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010 for Best Actress and in 2025 she directed "The Message", which was selected in competition at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear. In addition to directing his own projects, he is a producer, director of photography, editor and composer.
