Known for Acting

Mark Blankfield was an American actor and comedian. Born on May 8, 1950, in Pasadena, Texas, he began his acting career in the early 1980s, appearing in a number of television shows, including Taxi, Night Court, and The Nutt House. He was an ensemble player on the sketch comedy show Fridays and had a recurring role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. He later appeared in Sledge Hammer!, Arrested Development, The Mindy Project and the HBO Max series Made for Love. Blankfield's first major film role was in The Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981). He then went on to appear in a number of other films, including Jekyll and Hyde... Together Again (1982), The Jerk, Too (1984) and The Secret of My Success (1987). Blankfield was perhaps best known for his roles as Blinkin, one of the Merry Men, in the film Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), and Martin, a vampire hunter, in Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995). He was a member of both the Actors' Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. From 1972 to 1987, Blankfield was married to actress Brandis Kemp, with whom he had one son. Blankfield passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 73.
