Known for Directing

Alex Scarpa was born in Trento, Italy, in 1988. He directed his first short film, Luce spenta, in 2014. He subsequently worked as assistant director alongside filmmakers Razi Mohebi and Soheila Javaheri on Cittadini del nulla (2015), Cittadini del Mondo (2015), and Una casa sulle nuvole (2018). In 2018 he directed Stakhanov, awarded a Special Mention at the Edera Film Festival and selected at the ICFF — Italian Contemporary Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. In 2021 he directed Non lasciarmi, selected at the Rabat International Author Film Festival. In 2025 he co-wrote and co-directed La ragazza d'argento with Margherita Giusti Hazon, winner of the Premio Sybila at the San Benedetto International Film Festival 2025.
