Jon Knautz, born on December 25, 1979, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is a Canadian film director and screenwriter known for his work in the horror genre. He began developing his filmmaking craft in high school and later completed the Film Foundation program at the Vancouver Film School. His first short film, Apt. 310 (2002), played at eleven film festivals and garnered two awards for Best Short Film. In 2004, he received a grant from the Ontario Arts Council to direct the short film The Other Celia. He followed this with the critically acclaimed short film Still Life (2005), for which he was awarded Best Director at the Malibu Film Festival in 2006. Knautz's feature films include Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (2007), The Shrine (2010), and Goddess of Love (2015).
